A 1985 framed etching/aquatint printed on handmade wove paper by Yuko Shiraishi (b 1956 Tokyo). Shiriashi moved to London in 1978 to study painting at the Chelsea School of Art and is represented by Annely Juda Fine Art. This piece shows Shiraishi's early engagement with minimalism and structural repetition and features a central square plate mark filled with a dense, rhythmic pattern of organic, interlocking cell-like shapes in cobalt blue and dark blue/black with etched crosshatched lines. It is signed and numbered (3 of 15) in pencil on the page and signed in pen internally in the frame. It is float mounted and professionally framed in a black stained wood deep box frame. Size: framed size is 44.5 x 44.5cms x 4cms approximately. It weighs approximately 2.3kg.
Condition: The paper is float mounted with a little waviness; some very small dark dots to margin, possibly created during printmaking process; some general wear to frame: scuffs, dings and small chips to extremities, general scuffs, scratches and light marks, scuffs and wear to back of frame and framers tape has been removed.
