A pair of vintage postmodern revival table lamp bases made by Crosa in 2004. The sculptural bases are made from heavy cast resin with a textured pitted finish and pale ochre wash to resemble travertine or cast plaster. They are architectural and geometric in form, featuring a plinth base with swept triangular legs supporting a central sphere and a brass lamp holder. These lamps are reminiscent of the iconic plaster lighting of Diego Giacometti and Jean-Michel Frank. They are both PAT tested. Standard bayonet fittings. Please note, this does not include lamp shades (please see photo 3 for reference, I think they suit a plain and easily available coolie shade). Please see photos and condition description.
Size: 42.5cms tall, 18.5cms wide and 11cms deep at base. Heavy, each lamp weighs approximately 2.7kg.
Condition: Slight shape variation and colour variation between the two, one has much more of a yellow ochre glaze; the lighter lamp base has some casting imperfections (which appear to be small neat mends made by manufacturer after the resin was de-moulded as they follow the seam line); occasional small imperfections elsewhere; general light wear to extremities on both, occasional small chips to edges (not significant and only apparent on close inspection); occasional light marks; some visible glue to the top of one bulb holder; otherwise both in good robust condition. Both have original wiring and have been PAT tested. The wire on the lighter lamp base is approximately 84cms long while the darker lamp has a very long wire of 185cms approximately.
