A monumental pair of large vintage Italian hand wrought iron sculptural wall sconces. Of abstract vertical tiered form with iron stems with spoon-like finials. Brutalist in style with raw edges, twisted and beaten textured mark making and charming handmade imperfections. Black patination. Each sconce has two light fixtures, one pointing up and one down, with original Italian ceramic bulb holders. Please note, I have not rewired these and they come with original European (Italian) wiring which is not suitable for use in the UK. They will need to be rewired to suit before use. Please see photos and condition description.
Size: 64cms long, 18.5cms wide, 7.5cms deep approximately. Heavy, each weighs 1280g.
Condition: Please note, I have not tested or rewired these and they come with original European (Italian) wiring which is not suitable for use in the UK (please see last few photos). They will need to be rewired to suit before use by an electrician. Handmade imperfections and irregularities; shape differences between the two; some wear and colour variation to blackened patina; some light surface wear; light rust otherwise in very good condition.
