Wonderful whimsical sculptural frame made of 2 x cast and polished aluminium figural structural pieces holding two pieces of glass with bevelled edges. Designed by South African designer and artist Carrol Boyes and stamped verso. Carrol Boyes was known for her playful 'functional art' sculptural homeware and this piece is part of her 'sumo' collection. Could work both in portrait or landscape orientation and potentially as a double sided frame. Postcard not included. Please see photos and condition description.
Size: 21 x 12 x 9.5cms approx with picture window of approx. 17 x 12cms.
Condition: In good condition: aluminium pieces in excellent condition. Glass in good condition one corner of one of the pieces of glass has a little chip a couple of millimetres big on one side, barely noticeable and has been sanded smooth (visible in the photograph 3 from the last one). The figure sits a little wonky on a flat surface, apparently part of the design. Otherwise generally in good used well looked after condition.
