Collectable David Marshall brutalist style hexagonal sculptural table mat/trivet/tray/salver suitable as a decorative piece on a table or desk. Made from hand sand cast pieces of brass and aluminium, with obviously hand made tactile qualities and a hand filed and filled finish. Trademark leather underside. Fabricated by the artist, designer and sculptor David Marshall (b. 1942) in Spain in the 1980s, this piece was sourced in Scotland (David Marshall is originally from Edinburgh). As with many of his works, this has not been signed/stamped by the artist.
Size: 28cms x 32cms approx. Heavy, nearly 2kg.
Condition: Uncleaned and unpolished with slightly dull patina with some tone variation and darkening (possibly some water marks). In obviously handmade condition with associated imperfections and obvious hand finishing. The trademark leather underside is coming away from the metal a little in places and is slightly stained with colour variation. This piece is not stamped by the artist. Please see photos.
