Iconic collectable brutalist style chunky lidded sculptural jewellery trinket box. Hand sand cast in recycled brass and aluminium with interlocking organic forms. Designed and made by sculptor and artist David Marshall in the 1970s/80s in Spain as part of his Disenos collection. Wonderful raw hand made tactile qualities, air bubbles, visible joins and lovely imperfections and hand finished. No two of these are exactly the same and the process is evident in the finished piece. Trademark leather underside. Heavy. Impressed ’dh’ to lid. Please see photos and condition description. Condition: The aluminium and brass are in very good condition with no obvious evidence of use other than few light scratches and some marks and wear to leather base. Obviously hand made in quality with lots of wonderful little irregularities. Uncleaned /unpolished and slightly dulled - could easily be polished if desired.
