Iconic collectable brutalist style sand cast brass and aluminium interlocking organic form ash tray. Designed and made by sculptor and artist David Marshall in the 1970s/80s in Spain as part of his Disenos collection. Wonderful raw hand made tactile qualities, air bubbles and lovely imperfections and a hand filed and filled finish. No two of these are exactly the same and the process is evident in the finished piece. Trademark leather underside with some imperfections. Heavy. Fabricated by the artist, designer and sculptor David Marshall (b. 1942) in Spain, this piece was sourced in Scotland (David Marshall is originally from Edinburgh). As with many of his works, this has not been signed/stamped by the artist. Please see photos and condition description.

Condition: The aluminium and brass are in very good condition with no obvious evidence of use. Obviously hand made in quality with lots of wonderful little irregularities. Uncleaned /unpolished and slightly dulled - could easily be polished if desired. The leather base is worn and marked and coming away from the base at the edges. Otherwise very good!
