A sculptural brutalist bowl with an organic shape and oversized handles. Fabricated by the Scottish artist, designer and sculptor David Marshall (b. 1942) in Spain in the 1980s, this piece is made from his characteristic hand sand cast pieced aluminium and contrasting solid brass elements. Lovely casting imperfections, obviously hand made tactile qualities and finish. Complete with its original authenticated printed leather base. Please see photos and condition description.
Size: 25cms wide at handles, 12.5cm at tallest, 12.5cms wide at base approximately. Heavy, this weighs approximately 1.7kg.
Condition: In good vintage condition with some age wear: quite pitted and tarnished/age darkened internally; some lighter mottled tarnish; scratches and scuffs; lots of casting imperfections and tool marks, some marks and wear to leather base.
